Questions & Answers
What are Jeeves heated towel rails?
Jeeves heated towel rails are wall mounted, filled with a thermal fluid heated by an element and designed to air and dry towels. As a bonus the towel is pleasantly warm to use.
Do all the models work on this principle?
The Model G, small cupboard heater, is the only unit in the range that is fitted with a dry element. Its purpose is to keep cupboards dry in humid conditions, preventing mould growing on leather, shoes and linen.
What are the towel rails made of?
All the Models (including the epoxy white Models) are manufactured in stainless steel tubing.
How do they work?
With the element positioned at the bottom, they use the principle of convection whereby the heated fluid rises and circulates.
How long will it take for the heated towel rail to dry my towels?
From cold it takes about one hour for the heated towel rails to reach their maximum surface temperature. A normal after-bath damp towel will then take approximately two hours to effectively dry and air.
What do the heated towel rails cost to run?
The towel rails have been designed to operate continuously and, depending on the Model, should cost no more than running a light bulb or two.
Are the heated towel rails safe to use in my bathroom?
YES! The towel rails have no exposed elements and have a safe surface temperature (approximately 50º to 60º Celsius). The towel rails also have a built in thermostat and cut-out switch and when installed by an electrician the wiring is connected to the earth leakage circuit breaker system. The electric switch should be located outside the bathroom.
How are the heated towel rails installed?
Every heated towel rail has a bracket pack and easy to follow instructions. It is, however, highly recommended that a qualified electrician do the installation to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
NOTE: ALWAYS MOUNT THE UNIT WITH THE ELEMENT AT THE BOTTOM (WIRING) AS THERMAL FLUID CONVECTION IS USED TO HEAT THE RAIL.
